Novelty 1973.
Catalogue text:
WORLD CUP a really new football game for one or more players. Most
amusing and fascinating for children and adults as well. It is played
according to the international football rules.
Was delivered in the shown
cardboard box or in a blister. Only shown on the 1973 Novelty catalogue
sheet - according to price lists available until 1977.
Contrary to the pictures shown on the box the arena does
not show any advertising on the outer circle. The internal adverts are
printed. The side walls of the box present the football World Champions
Final results of 1930 until 1970.
How it works: as shown on the pictures below, the kids
had to push the button behind the player / goal keeper, thus the air
inside that little chamber was compressed and left the player at the
front bottom with a "blast" and pushed the "ball" forward. The "ball"
was a 4 x 15 mm round foam material (missing here). The foam material
inside the chamber was needed to reject the lid of the chamber.
The goals were clipped onto the
play area by pins- as well as the goal keepers. Both players were freely
moveable.
Remark of the Webmaster: I think
this game very fast got boring - because the effectiveness and the way
it should work is very strange. I think most of the game went to the
trash very fast - and thus only very few are left today.
